When it comes to your Cape Cod home, what’s on the outside is just as important as what’s on the inside. That’s because a colorful, vibrant exterior can serve to inspire and invigorate every time you come home.
Nothing can accomplish that more than a fresh coat of paint, done just right. That’s why exterior painting should be left to the professionals, which is where we can help.
EXTERIOR PAINTING: IT STARTS WITH THE PREP
Preparation is important for any home improvement project to be successful. This is particularly true with exterior painting as prep work will ensure a professional-looking finish.
Prep work begins with inspecting all areas to be painted. If there are any sections of your home (trim, windows, doors) that need to be repaired we will notify you ahead of time. In certain cases, Brothers Enterprises can do that repair work for you.
The next step is to clean all surfaces to be painted. This typically requires sanding and washing. The general rule of thumb for all paint jobs (interior and exterior) is if it’s not clean, it shouldn’t be painted.
We will also protect any outside furniture and landscape that could be impacted by our work.
While prep work is not glamorous, it will result in a finished product that will ultimately make you proud.
NEXT STEPS: PRIMING AND PAINTING
Once prep work is complete, Brothers Enterprises will move onto priming your home. This will serve to seal all your existing material into place so the new paint can adhere properly to the surface. Newer technology has combined primer and paint into one product which could serve as an option for your home. We will work with you to determine what option is best for your home.
Your home’s location can also determine what product is best suited for your project and how many coats we should apply. Homes closer to the water can often benefit from an extra coat due to their susceptibility to wind and salt water damage.
